Ladies' Academy
Learn to play golf in a fun and friendly environment at our Ladies Golf Academy.
Whether you are new to golf, or a rusty returner, our Ladies Academy is a great way to learn and develop your golf skills at a pace that is right for you and to make new friends along the way.
We have a large, enthusiastic, welcoming group of Academy members to learn, play and socialise with, so you won’t be alone as you learn the game.
Our friendly PGA Professionals and female members (some of whom are Academy “graduates”) work together to provide you with all the things you need to get out onto the course, confidently take part in the fun events we organise for you and get to know etiquette, the rules of the game and different formats of play as well as attaining a golf handicap.
Our lovely golf course has an 18- hole short, Blue Tee course specially designed for beginners and the option to play a few, 9 or 18 holes. We aim to get you onto the course as soon as possible.
When the Pro gives you the green light, you can go out with a member and then, when your skills and knowledge have developed, you can take and pass a simple assessment that allows you to “Fly Solo.”
Our Academy membership lasts for 12 months and can be followed, if needed, by a second year in Academy Plus. Both include a generous package of tuition and full support from the women members.
If you are not quite ready for full membership at the end of two years, then you may be offered a Pathway membership. This is only available to Academy “graduates” and is for a maximum of 12 months. No tuition is included, but the women members will help you with the essentials for transitioning smoothly to full membership.

"I was never interested in golf, watching or playing. A friend coerced me into having a trial with the Pro at APGC, I loved it! I signed up to the APGC Academy and have been out in all weathers.
